My daughter and I we re out in front of my house and a neighbor walked by with his dog. My daughter of course was interested, and h e stopped and said “go ahead, you can pet him.”
I held my daughter back and apologized awkwa rdly before bringing her inside. He understood, but it was such a weird interaction. Sometimes it’s the smallest things that really illuminate the insanity of this situation.

right - people are still figuring it all out. We’ve been trying to walk daily just to get some fresh air and some folks walk right up, not doing the 6' thing at all then some cross the street to the other side half a block away and avoid any interaction.

meanwhile me neighbourlady who has no immune system to speak of went for a tiny walk outside and got yelled at by a dog owner for petting the doggo that ran up to greet her...
(not for petting the dog... its just that the owner was still attached to said dog and that put them in close proximity....)
anyhoo...if you are that worried...and cant stop the dog from walking you
maybe be polite about it?...or get a dogwalker and stay inside
